Property weather: Pressure on the property rental market continues to increase
Few people still dare to take the step from rented accommodation to their own four walls, although many would like to. At the same time, there is still too little new construction. High demand and low supply mean that finding a rental flat is becoming more difficult and prices are rising.
In the first half of 2024, property purchase prices fell in many places. At the same time, interest rates have stabilised. Property purchases have therefore become more predictable. Nevertheless, many prospective buyers are hesitant. As a result, pressure on the rental markets remains high.
Yet now is a good time to buy, as there are increasing signs of rising purchase prices. Many experts believe that the trend in purchase prices has reversed. So if you are thinking about buying a property, you should consider it now before prices start to rise again.
This is because the situation on the German rental market remains tense. Finding an affordable flat is becoming increasingly difficult. Experts believe that the pressure will not ease in the foreseeable future. A comparison between rental and purchase price can therefore be worthwhile. Especially as the property markets in Germany are not uniform. So it is also worth looking at where I am looking for a property.
