Frankfurt Oberrad – the gardening village
Vegetable growing is a tradition in the fields in front of Oberrad and all the ingredients for the famous Frankfurt green sauce grow here. A monument to this regional dish was even erected in Oberrad: seven greenhouses in different shades of green for the seven herbs in the sauce. But although Oberrad borders on the southern bank of the Main and the city forest, so there is a lot of nature, high-rise buildings also characterize the cityscape. The next big city, Offenbach, is already in the northeast. Oberrad is a cozy and tranquil little green island between Sachsenhausen and Offenbach.
